After a very cold 3 days of travel from Oklahoma we arrived at the Standing Stones Retreat Center, which is 17 miles west of Wickenburg, AZ, on Thanksgiving Day 2018. This seems very appropriate due to how grateful we were that God lead us to serve at this powerful, healing ministry set out in the rural AZ desert. The location is home to the Shepherds Canyon retreat program.
Shepherd’s Canyon Retreat offers week-long counseling retreats for men and women in full-time ministry who are in the midst of various stages of burnout, stress, depression, and conflicts of all kinds.

We enjoyed serving by repairing roofs, cleaning rooms, cooking, moving an AC supply vent, painting, rearranging shelving and other small tasks that the staff has not been able to get to with their busy schedule with retreat clients.

Jenny, Mary and Diana worked together to get the rooms ready for more guests.

Jenny had fun with water! Helped Don in using the power washer on the roof before painting it.
Mary and Beverly spent a week baking and freezing delicious desserts for the upcoming retreats.
John painted trim all the way around the roof perimeter.
Jenny and Don painted together in the garage and storage area.
This is one of the many spectacular sunsets we enjoyed while serving at Standing Stones. God gave us many amazing light shows! Praise Him!

We feel blessed to have done a small part to help this vital ministry. After the New Year, we are off to southern California.
